6th Louvre - DNP Museum Lab presentation Artist Talk Characters and Cinema (provisional title) With Kazuyuki IZUTSU (film director) © 2007-2008 Musée du Louvre / Georges Poncet

Though works dating from Egyptian antiquity, the portraits exhibited during the Sixth Louvre - DNP Museum Lab Presentation have a startling effect on contemporary visitors due to the extreme realism of their expression. They do indeed give an impression of the model's very human aspect, revealing their temperament and feeling. In this activity, the film director Kazuyuki IZUTSU, known for his highly original productions, is invited to select various portraits of men and women who lived 1,800 years ago, beginning with the three works on display at Museum Lab, with a view to an imaginary film casting. He will let us in on the secrets of his casting choices in a freely-staged interview and debate.
